Quiz and Ploughman's Supper Results

It was good to see some of you at the Quiz last Friday. If you weren’t there you missed a great evening! We had over 100 people taking part and it was good to see so many new Bradfield residents. There was a lovely atmosphere in the room with a great deal of chat and laughter. Congratulations go to the winning team of Hollis and Liz Drake together with the McLachlan family. All teams managed over 50% correct answers, so we seem to get the standard of questions correct. The comments received about the event were all very positive. Thank you to the people who brought raffle prizes and those who stayed to help clear up.

Especially thanks to:

Christine Bowen, Sheila Large and Barbara Coe for the excellent Ploughman’s Supper.

John Barrow, Jerry and Margaret Garner for marking and scoring.

Sue Reeve and Margaret Attfield for collecting table monies

Graham Points and Jean Points for sorting the raffle.

All the above, plus Sue Cunningham for setting up the hall.

A great team effort!

The event has raised just over £1000 pounds for funds. Hopefully we will be able to tell you how this money will be spent sometime soon.

Garden Open Day results

Wow what a record-breaking day! A large number of people filling the gardens with smiles and excited chat just so pleased to be out in a beautiful environment. It was good to see such an age range out and about.  The record numbers attending and the generosity of those of you providing refreshments and stalls and not claiming expenses, means we have reached an amazing total of £3,244. This will be used for the maintenance and improvements to St Lawrence Church Bradfield.

Thank you Garden Owners you, did a fantastic job! We would also like to thank everyone who donated cakes and plants to the stalls. It was particularly nice that other community organisation became involved. A big thank you to Geoff and his staff at the local shop, for selling programmes. Julie Church of Mouse House Bakes, for shutting her stall, but making cakes for us and Lauren Lumley of Our Pretty Wedding who donated the proceeds from plants sold on her Flower Stall.

Finally, a thank you to Kat Glover for her brilliant advertising which persuaded many of you to put your walking shoes on and join in. Thank you for your support.

I will be posting some garden photos in the gallery on this website hopefully by the middle of next week. If anyone has some photos they would like to share please email to me norma.barrow@keme.co.uk
