2016 Book Launch of Bradfield's World War I Heroes

In 1918 the people of Bradfield raised money to erect a beautiful memorial in the village church to the 22 young men who gave their lives in the First World War. It was good to see this village support continued at the launch of the Friends latest history book when over fifty people met in the church to remember these young men, purchase a book about them and enjoy some social time together. The book “Bradfield’s World War I Heroes” priced £4.99 can be purchased from the village shop or via Amazon (please see "Books" tab for link). In this book the Bradfield men who died in the First World War are brought back to life.  It tells the stories of these men and contains illustrations of the battlefields, cemeteries and memorials where they are remembered.
The editorial team of Bob Coe, Margaret Attfield, Wendy Ellis and Sue Cunningham are to be congratulated on producing a thought provoking book. Thanks also go to Henry Lamdon for his beautiful illustration.

That was a fun evening! Congratulations to the cast for a very entertaining performance. In true “rep” style they also did a good job humping stage blocks and scenery! Thank you to Christine Bowen and Barbara Coe who once again supplied us with an excellent Ploughman’s Supper. Thanks also to Bob Coe for front of house and Rosie and Hazel for selling raffle tickets. Thank you to the audience who cheered the actors on even when things went slightly astray!

After expenses the evening raised £705 for Friends funds. Click on gallery to see the available photos. If anyone has other photos please let me know, I would love one of the end scene just to prove Dagmar was on stage and not only “dead” under the sheet in her wheelchair!

Rodney is desperate to do a Panto ------ I think there may even be a script for a Murder Mystery One!
